The Tampa Bay Area is a metropolis of 4 million people. Its attractions include 165 parks and beaches, sports and entertainment venues and the famous gasparilla pirate festival.

Ybor City is the national historical site of old Tampa. Formerly the site of numerous cigar factories, it is now an area of shops and nightclubs.

Preserved historical sites include the lavish moorish revival Tampa Bay hotel built in 1891.

Lengthy causeways and bridges links St. Petersburg to Tampa and to outlying barrier islands.

The St. Petersburg Pier provides fishing, boat rentals, festivals and an aquarium.

The Salvadore Dali Museum in St. Petersburg houses the largest collection of Dali's work outside of Europe.

Salvadore Dali is reknown for the striking and bizarre images of his surrealist work.
